If you're flying into Ibiza this summer, chances are your first destination is Playa d'en Bossa — the island's biggest beach strip and the home of its two most famous clubs, Ushuaïa and Hi Ibiza. The good news: this is the closest party zone to Ibiza Airport (IBZ). The less-good news: at peak season the ride can go from a 10-minute breeze to a stressful wait if you don't plan ahead. Here's the honest, practical guide to getting there in 2026.
The short version: it's genuinely close
Playa d'en Bossa sits just north of the airport, and the whole zone — beach, hotels, Ushuaïa and Hi — is only about 4–6 km away.
- Ibiza Airport to Playa d'en Bossa (beach and hotels): roughly 8–12 minutes by road.
- Airport to Ushuaïa Ibiza & Hi Ibiza: about 10 minutes, as the two clubs sit almost opposite each other at the southern end of the strip.
Those times are real off-peak. On a Friday or Saturday evening in July and August, add 10–20 minutes for traffic around the Bossa roundabouts and club drop-off zones. Plan for it and you'll arrive relaxed.
Playa d'en Bossa
Playa d'en Bossa is the long beach that runs from the edge of Ibiza Town down toward the salt flats. It's where most first-time visitors stay: hotels, beach clubs, restaurants and the two mega-clubs are all within walking distance of each other.
One thing to get right for 2026: the old Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza has closed and rebranded. From 2026 the property operates as BLESS Ibiza – The Site. If your booking still says "Hard Rock," it's the same location — just tell your driver BLESS Ibiza or give the street address to avoid confusion.
Because Playa d'en Bossa is so close, a pre-booked transfer here is the easiest leg you'll do all trip. A 7–16 seat Mercedes van drops your whole group at the hotel door with luggage — no splitting across taxis, no meeting point mix-ups.
Ushuaïa Ibiza
Ushuaïa is the open-air, daytime-into-evening club at the southern end of Playa d'en Bossa, famous for poolside sets that finish before the small hours. From the airport it's about a 10-minute drive.
Two practical points:
- Set times are early. Ushuaïa's headline shows often start mid-afternoon and wrap up by around 23:00–midnight, so if you're heading straight from a flight, factor the drive so you don't miss the act you came for.
- Drop-off in peak season is busy. The road in front of Ushuaïa and Hi gets congested at opening and closing. A driver who knows the zone will use the right drop point so you're not walking far in the heat.
Hi Ibiza
Hi Ibiza sits directly across from Ushuaïa and is the after-dark club — it opens late and runs until morning. Drive time from the airport is the same ~10 minutes.
Because Hi runs into the early hours, most people arrive by transfer and want a reliable ride back afterwards too. Taxis at 05:00–07:00 outside the clubs are scarce and the queues are long. Booking your return in advance — or keeping our WhatsApp handy — saves you standing on the roadside at dawn.
Late-night and early-morning arrivals
Ibiza Airport receives flights around the clock in summer. If you land after midnight:
- The taxi rank can empty out fast when several flights arrive together, leaving long waits.
- Public buses run reduced late-night service.

Luggage, groups and dress code

Dress code: Ushuaïa and Hi enforce a smart-casual policy — no beachwear, no flip-flops, no swimwear inside the club. Men usually need closed shoes for evening entry. It's worth changing before you go rather than after a long travel day.

Ibiza Airport regulates vehicle access to the terminal forecourt. Private-hire and transfer vehicles use the designated pick-up areas rather than pulling up directly outside arrivals, and the airport's access rules (signposted under the AERO5 access scheme) mean your driver will guide you to the correct authorised meeting point. The taxi queue reality in peak season
In July and August the official taxi rank at IBZ regularly backs up when several flights land together. Waits of 30–45 minutes at the rank are common on busy evenings, and licensed taxi supply on the island is capped. If you arrive without a plan, you can lose the "10-minute" advantage of being close to Bossa entirely — standing in a queue longer than the drive itself.
